6 Pack Recap: CFB Week 8

Last week: 10-9-1

Total: 43-41-4

We are still above .500, so I’ll take that. We suffered a few very bad beats last week, but that will happen. Going positive with 20 plays in a 6 pack is definitely something to celebrate. Here’s the recap of our Rollercoaster of a week.

Texas Tech @ BYU: Loss

I always have to choose my team, and it burned me. I thought Behren Morton would play, but Tech still had success moving the ball without him. Mistakes cost the Red Raiders in a big way here. It felt like we could have success on the BYU defense; we just put ourselves in a big hole early. I don’t care how much we feed Tahj; it’s never enough. In typical Tech fashion, the team kept giving us just enough hope to keep watching and then devastated us with horrendous mistakes. I just want our Red Raiders to win some games again.

Air Force @ Navy: Push & Win

The under was easy. You always take the under in these Sevice Academy games. Don’t even think about it; just do it.

That brings the record to 44-10-1 for unders in Service Academy games since 2005. That’s free money. Now it’s time to rant. A pick 6 at the end of the game??? Really??? We were fine the whole game. But wait, we are not done there. Navy drives to score at the end of the game, cutting the deficit to 11. KICK THE EXTRA POINT AND MAKE IT 10. THERE IS NO REASON TO GO FOR 2. This push was a gut punch. There was no reason for it. Going down 9 with under a minute left does nothing. I will have to move past this, but I’m definitely bitter.

Baylor @ Cincinnati: Win & Win

This was easy. These new Big 12 teams are not that great. I know Baylor has not looked great this year, but they are still better than Cincinnati. Honestly, I think a lot of people are too down on Baylor. If only the NCAA and Law Enforcement were down on them when they were committing crimes against humanity. I guess winning is the only thing that matters there.

Iowa @ Minnesota: Loss & Loss

This was another terrible beat. COOPER DEJEAN DID NOT WAVE FOR A FAIR CATCH. What a terrible call by the refs. He ran back a punt for the winning touchdown that was called back upon review for a non-existent fair catch signal. I am just creating ways to lose games. The under was always the play, but I took the over to be cute. I got what I deserved there. This loss hurt though.

Oklahoma State @ West Virginia: Win & Win

Another easy win. I have been saying that West Virginia were frauds. Not that hot of a take. However, I have also been very high on Oklahoma State. Now that Bowman is the starter, this team has taken off. This team is a dark horse for the Big 12 title game. I will keep making money on this team. Man, it’s fun to watch Gordon run the ball.

Clemson @ Miami +3

I keep thinking Clemson will flip the switch and be dominant. I need to give up on that notion. Maybe this Clemson team just isn’t that good. I’m not sure, but I held out hope this whole game and was let down. I still am down on this Miami team. Don’t let this change your opinion of them.

Well, there is your recap for the week. Over 20 plays and a winning record. That is success right there. Time to put these bad beats behind us and move on to Cincinnati.
