Last night Micah Hudson officially committed to Tech becoming the highest rated recruit in the program’s history and likely rounding out the best recruiting class Tech has ever had. On the heels of a tough 0-2 start it is exactly what we needed to keep up the momentum that this team had coming into the season.
Over the past 2 weeks a few on social media have called into question if Joey really is the guy. I can tell you emphatically, he is the guy. Only in year 2, he has elevated the brand of the university and has recruited to West Texas like no other coach has before.
The whining and complaining over analytics based decisions needs to end. Last year this team probably misses making a bowl game without those decisions. Instead it resulted in the best season since 2013. Last year Tech’s postgame win expectancy was 5.8 wins… coaching elevated that to 8. It was the third largest overachievement in the country. That’s the kind of coach he is. When did Tech fans become so risk averse? I remember a time when we proudly boasted about how Leach loved to roll the dice on 4th down. Where has that spirit gone?
But Joey is no gambling man. His strategy and decisions are strictly made based on what gives the Red Raiders the best chance to win.
He’s dominating on the recruiting trail and he’s about to dominate this conference.
